Nicole

All Synergy instructors teach exclusively at our studio. They are required to hold a current certification in a mind/body discipline from a nationally accredited organization, a current CPR certification, current professional liability insurance, and a minimum of 100 hours of teaching in their chosen discipline.

Nicole Pugh, RYT

Nicole was born and raised in rural southern Ohio, where she developed a love for learning, creating, laughing, and simply being in the great outdoors. Her Appalachian roots also fostered a strong faith in God and a deep calling to serve others in any capacity where she could play a role.

Introduced to yoga in her early thirties, Nicole began her practice at Synergy in Cookeville, TN. While she was initially drawn to yoga for physical healing (after her first pregnancy), she soon experienced a deeper practice that changed her life. Finding yoga felt very much like finding a missing piece of herself, and because of that, she wanted to deepen her knowledge and understanding of the practice in order to share it with others, particularly those in need. She has completed a 200-hour teacher training at Yoga Landing in Chattanooga, TN, under the instruction of Jessica Jollie, and has received RYT-200 status with the Yoga Alliance, of which she is also a registered instructor. Additionally, Nicole has studied through continuing education workshops in the areas of Yin yoga, Pranayama, and Self-Alignment. Currently, she is deepening her practice and studies under the instruction of Gillian St. Clair (Nashville).

Nicole stepped away from her career as a professional librarian to take on the role of full-time mama for her two daughters, Rory Love and Reagan. She is an alumnae of USC and Ohio University, where she met her soul mate of 15 years, Chip. Over the years, they've stayed in love through shared interests such as reading, running, Seinfeld reruns, triathlons, hiking, and CrossFit (of which Nicole is a Level-1 Certified CrossFit Coach and certified CrossFit Endurance Coach). When there's time just for herself, Nicole loves reading, gardening, cooking, and finding absolutely any opportunity to laugh her yoga pants off.
